RAW Nature, is the topic this month. A play on words yes and a closer look at two fantastic producers making Zero Dosage and incredibly natural champagne show it's true light. To kick off, we feature Champagne Drappier based in the Côte des Bar which is in the south of Champagne. The wine of focus, is the beguiling Rosé Brut Nature made with 100% Pinot noir using the Saignée or maceration method and of course zero dosage. So the old adage, 'good things come to those who wait' rings true for this month's edition - 'Acapella Versus Concerto'. We wanted to use a music analogy highlighting our first wine for all our 'Lovers' which is made with one variety - chardonnay, one year and one parcel. Welcome back guys, the theme this month is 'Northern Montagne de Reims' which looks at two producers; Vilmart & Cie based in the Premier Cru village of Rilly-la-Montagne (in the North-western part) and Vincent Brochet based in the 1er Cru village of Ecueil which sits in the North-eastern part, which is classified as the 'Vesle & Ardre'. This month looks at two growers; Georges Vesselle, based in the Grand Cru of Bouzy and Champagne Louise Brison who is based in Noë-les-Mallets in the Côte des Bar. 'Cuvée Juline' from Georges Vesselle is a multi-vintage blend taking some of the best vintages from the last 5-10 years. From the details on the bottle, it looks like a base from from 2017. The blend is 80% pinot noir and 20% chardonnay and aged for 5 years under cork. Dosage is about 4-5 g/l.
