The estate is based in Verzy, part of the Montagne de Reims sub-region of Champagne, which includes some of the region’s most acclaimed terroirs, including Grand Cru vineyards.
The house was established in 1968 by Jean-Paul Deville, who came from a long line of vineyard owners and growers. Prior to founding the house, the Deville family had spent generations selling grapes to other producers, typical of many small Champagne growers.
The domaine remains family-run, now with Jean-Paul’s daughter Marie-Alice Deville involved in the winemaking and modernization of the estate while still preserving its artisanal roots.
Vineyards & Winemaking
Terroir: The vineyards are situated across prime Champagne terroirs—particularly the Grand Cru slopes around Verzy famed for exceptional Pinot Noir.
Viticulture: The estate is classed as a Récoltant-Manipulant (RM), meaning they grow their own grapes and are directly involved in the winemaking process from vine to bottle.
Sustainable Practices: Their viticulture focuses on careful attention to the vine and soil, often with a gentle, lower-intervention approach to reflect the terroir in the wines.
Method: The traditional méthode champenoise is used—secondary fermentation in the bottle with extended aging on the lees for complexity.
