Food Pairings

Henri Giraud Champagnes are versatile at the table because of their richness balanced with acidity:

Shellfish & seafood — oysters, lobster, scallops.
Creamy dishes — risotto, smoked salmon pasta.
Rich savoury mains — roasted poultry, pork with mushroom sauce.
Aged cheeses — Comté, aged Brie.

Their texture and depth make them excellent not just as aperitifs but throughout a meal — especially with foods that complement oak-derived complexity.

Technical Notes

Henri Giraud Esprit (sometimes labelled Esprit Nature Brut) is a core non-vintage Champagne from Champagne Henri Giraud that replaces the older Esprit Brut cuvée and showcases the house’s signature blend of terroir, oak influence and vinification style.

Blend: ~80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay — reflecting Henri Giraud’s focus on Pinot Noir and the rich character of the Aÿ terroir.

Reserve Wines: About 50% of the blend comes from perpetual reserve stocks (older wines kept back to add depth and consistency).

Oak Influence: Around half of the wine is matured in small oak barrels made from Argonne Forest oak — a rare practice in Champagne that adds texture, richness and complexity.

Lees Ageing: It’s typically aged on the lees for at least 2 years, contributing creaminess and depth to the texture.

About the House

Champagne Henri Giraud is a rare, independent, family-owned Champagne house rooted in centuries-old tradition but driven by terroir and innovation. Their Champagnes stand out for oak influence, textural depth, minerality and expressive terroir character, making them special for collectors and enthusiasts seeking something beyond the mainstream.
