- The perfect champagne for gourmet dining

La Grande Année is the embodiment of the carefully preserved traditional expertise of the Bollinger Champagne House. Vinification takes place exclusively in small old oak barrels (20 years old on average), maintained in Bollinger’s cooperage, of which there are more than 3,500. Bollinger has never abandoned this traditional craft method, which helps develop aromas of great finesse. Riddling and disgorging are performed entirely by hand, and take place after ageing on the lees in bottles with, natural corks.

La Grande Année 2015 is the perfect champagne for gourmet food. To fully appreciate its unique style and aromas, the wine is best served between 8 and 10°C. Enjoy now or cellar.

Bollinger remain quite possibly one of the most famous family-owned champagne houses of all. Bollinger are well known for their dominance of the powerful and expressive pinot noir from Aÿ where they were founded, their use of magnums for production of all their wines and a traditional wine making style incorporating fermentation in oak barrels from which they have never deviated. They still have their own in-house cooper who makes and manages their stock of some 3,500 barrels! That equates to about 1 million bottles being fermented in barrel - that is the largest (along with Krug) of any other producer in the region. Currently Bollinger own some 164 hectares in some of the best sites across Champagne.

Blend of the 2015 vintage: 60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay.
19 crus: mainly Aÿ and Verzenay for the Pinot Noir, Chouilly and Oiry for the Chardonnay. Exclusive use of the cuvée. Fermented entirely in aged oak barrels.

At Bollinger, only very high quality harvests become a vintage: the exceptional 2015 vintage gave rise to a wine that is simultaneously structured, rich and complex, in terms of both its minerality and exceptional intensity.

Maturation: Sealed with a natural cork and cellar aged for more than twice the time required by the Appellation. Dosage: Moderate, 8 grams per litre.
