Dom Pérignon Vintage 2013

Sale price

Dom Pérignon is vintage champagne only. Each vintage is a creation, singular and unique, that expresses both the character of the year, and the character of Dom Pérignon. After at least eight years of elaboration in the cellars, the wine embodies the perfect balance of Dom Pérignon, the Plénitude of harmony. The creation of the 2013 vintage reveals the resonance between the pinots noirs and chardonnays, between acidity and fullbodied.

After a long journey in the cellar, it is advised that you allow this to spend some time in the glass to allow it to open. The delicate nose unfolds in swaths of color. The green of eucalyptus, mint and vetiver, the yellow-orange of mirabelle plums, apricot and orange blossom, the brown of pepper, cardamom and licorice sticks, and finally silvery saline and toasty hues. The palate is elegant, expressing luxuriant simplicity and precision. The refined and silky foundation becomes more pronounced at the heart. The finish is dominated by a salinity that leaves a deep sensation of consistency.

A driven and serious DP with aromas of chalk, biscuits, apricot stones and lemons. Some spice and dried flowers, too. So sleek and sophisticated. Elegant. Yet, it’s long and powerful, with a sharp minerality. Tight and precise. Reminds me of bottles from the 1980s, such as 1988. It really takes off. Disgorged October 2021. Drinkable on release in January 2023, but better in a couple of years. A DP for the cellar. - James Suckling, 98 Points.

This iconic house posses the name of the man who is believed to be the god father of Champagne. Lead by enigmatic winemaker Richard Geoffroy, he has continued to prove that he is a force to be reckoned with and has been turning out great vintages and even far more superlative second release cuvees in the P2 range.

Geoffroy believes that champagnes age in plenitudes. This super talented winemaker has a theory that champagnes in the wine-makers cellars head off on a period of change and development then reach a plateau before heading off on another journey of increased complexity and development. As such, great vintages of Dom Perignon are held back in the cellar with the yeast inside the bottle to allow the wine to take on another stratosphere of complexity and depth. Enter P2 - a wine that must be enjoyed at least once in your lifetime and more if you can justify it!

51% Chardonnay, 49% Pinot Noir. 2013 vintage.
Minimum 8 years ageing in the cellar.

For a general approach of the Vintage 2013, wine’s intensity calls upon the work of the acids to reveal its character. Can be paired in a fantastic way with acid-rich fruits or plants such as citrus fruits, green tomatoes, sorrel or rhubarb. Try a sorrel and hazlenut pesto with a slice of lemon.
