The roots of the Salomon family have been carried for 150 years in Vandières
Albert, our great-great-grandfather who came from his native Savoie, settled in Vandières, married a daughter of a winegrower in 1875 and became Mayor of the town in 1925.
Georges, son son, heir to a piece of land. The latter, upon his return from the First World War, installed the first electric press in the village.
Adrien, son, will take over the family lands after a 5-year imprisonment near the Polish border during the Second War. As the work tools left by his father were no longer functional, he decided to become a winegrower-cooperator.
Denis, son of Adrien, returned to work with his father and moved in with his wife Odile in 1974, the date on which the Champagne Denis SALOMON brand was born. They started with 2 hectares and expanded to 5. Odile and Denis decided to leave the cooperative system after the 1984 harvest. Then, for the sake of transparency in their approach, in 1996, they obtained the “Independent Winemaker of France” label.
