"The finest wine of the estate, though, is the Pinot Meunier Vieilles Vignes, now renamed as Monodie en Meunier Majeur. First made in the 2002 vintage, this vintage-dated, single-vineyard meunier is sourced from three different parcels of vines in L’Arpent (which is really called Dessus le Bois des Châtaigniers on official maps of Festigny), planted in 1942, 1962 and 1966, respectively.

Both the Authentic Meunier and the Monodie Vieilles Vignes are outstanding examples of pure meunier in their different and respective ways, making Loriot one of the reference points for meunier in the Marne." Peter Liem.

This house lies in the heart of the Montagne de Reims - Mareuil-Sur-Aÿ. Antoine is the grandson of Guy Bouvet who founded the Champagne house in 1970. Antoine was always curious in the winemaking, following his grandfather since he was a young child. Guy Bouvet gave Antoine the estate when he was 17. Antoine looks after the small 5 hectares of vines in which only 1 hectare is used for his own production whilst the rest is sold to Bollinger. Therefore very limited bottles are produced, on average 1000 bottles per cuvee. Antoine practices biodynamic methods, uses wild fermentation and minimum intervention. Antoine’s love and admiration for his grandfather can be seen in the homage to him on his wine labels. These wines are a must try and a true young rising star of Champagne.
