Founded in 1687, the House of Tarlant is now run by 12th generation winemakers, the talented sibling duo Benoît and Mélanie Tarlant.
What’s truly unique about Tarlant Champagne is that the majority of production (90%) is bottled without dosage. While Brut Nature Champagne has slowly grown in popularity, Tarlant are famous for theirs and were producing them long before it was fashionable. Their entry level cuvées are named “Zero”, as it is “a reflection of the four villages we work in and the goal is to express a champagne without the external sugar masking the land’s characteristics.”
There’s no doubt that Benoît is the real deal. He has a great understanding and respect of the history of his house, as well as a passion for forward thinking that has truly allowed Tarlant to produce highly complex, natural champagnes.
