Champagne Franck Bonville’s origins lie in the Grand Cru village in Oger, In the early 20th century Alfred Bonville purchased vineyards in the village and those surrounding on the condition he could reach the plot within one hour by horse. This laid the foundation for following generations. Part of the Pur Terroir series, two plots from Oger are selected to express the terroir of the Grand Cru village.Update

Sweet and pastry aromas to this blend of 2 plots from Oger’s terroir. An aerial lightness evolves on these first notes, supported by the freshness. Confectionery aromas and a touch reminding us of sour candies give vivacity and come with a fresh ending, rhythmed by liquorice and lemon notes.

As demand for the greatest Côtes des Blancs grand crus continues to spiral, the privilege of substantial, well-placed holdings cannot be overstated. Gilles and Ingrid Bonville and their son Olivier are in command of 20 glorious hectares of prime grand cru turf, largely in Avize, with old vines on the slope of Oger and a little in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Cramant. Tended and vinified with precision, their polished blanc de blancs contrast the tension and brilliance of Avize with the generosity and exoticism of Oger.
