The husband-and-wife team of Jean and Virginie Lallement of Champagne Juillet-Lallement carry on a family tradition spanning three generations in the Grand Cru village of Verzy in the heart of La Montagne de Reims. The Juillet-Lallement family business operates just over 4 hectares, spread over two terroirs, Verzy and Sillery, both classified as 100% Grand Cru. The average age of their plots are 40 years old, and for a little anecdote the oldest plot was planted in 1949 by one of their predecessors, Arthur LALLEMENT. They cultivate 45% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier on 9 plots based on a chalky subsoil allowing the best development of the three Champagne grape varieties. Their philosophy strives to respect the cycles of nature and the elements that surround it through a sustainable viticulture and respect to the environment
