What to expect

The classic yellow label rosé is dressed in a neat 'ice jacket' complete with handle so you can look cool rocking up to your picnic this summer. Grab yourself a few as these are in limited supply.

"This is a lesson in what a difference 12% red wine can make in a blend, particularly in the hands of one of the finest red wine houses in all of Champagne. In its medium salmon guise, this is an elegant, refined and pretty rosé, in an appealingly fruit-focused style of vibrant strawberries, red cherries and red apple.

Pinot noir takes a confident lead in a fleshy and full mid-palate which coasts into a long finish of accurate line. The brioche, nougat and roast almond of lees maturity are more prominent in the 2012 base than usual, beautifully supporting its fruit presence. Tannins are impeccably handled, leaving lively acidity to define the structure, uninterrupted by well-integrated dosage. The 2012 base represents a particularly distinguished Clicquot Rosé."

Food suggestion

Arguably, the most recognisable champagne brand in the world. The yellow adorned on their labels – looks orange but is in fact the colour of the great Madame Clicquots’ favourite duck egg yolk. An established and major segment of the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy stable, Monsieur Dominique Demarville, is only the 10th cellar master in 240 years at the great house. The non-vintage Clicquot has been a dinner party staple for many a year and brings with it an approachable style that has a dominance of pinot noir and meunier with a large proportion of reserve wines. Look out for the non-vintage rosé, which is identical in production to its NV brother but with the addition of 12% red wine from some of the best grand cru sites; Ambonnay, Bouzy, Verzy and Verzenay. The rosé has been flying under the radar for too long and deserves your attention.

Food suggestion

This is a summertime soiree wine which will wow your guests. Serve at your fabulous party with canapés. For something unique and sophisticated try a fig halved and topped with some prosciutto ham, mascarpone cheese and a dollop of strawberry puree.
