- A 100% pinot noir coming from the 'Les Cognaux' vineyard - Single expression

- Pair with pork souvlaki, the kind with fresh lemon juice, salt and thyme.  

Welcome to the South's expression of single-vineyard Rosé pinot noir, akin to many expressions in Burgundy.

Expect a swirl of cherry jam and kirsch (cherry brandy), damson plum, blood orange and cinnamon and pepper spices. 

The palate is like velvet, gliding across the tongue. Yes, that's right, a sexual connotation is apt in describing this oral experience. The next note is from the winemaker, not us "Nice length in the mouth" well, there you go.

Naughty jokes aside, this delivers, bundles of flavour, with a mature mineral finish. This wine delivers all its complexity after some time in the glass.

Technical details

Aged in both stainless steel vats and in oak barrels as a wine. Then aged between 18 to 20 months on it's yeast lees in bottle. Zero sulphur and Brut nature. Semi-carbonic maceration for 4 days.

About the house

About the house


Bénédicte Ruppert and Manu Leroy tend 4 hectares of vineyards around Essoyes in the Aube. The vineyards were planted by Bénédicte’s father in the 1980s, and have been farmed organically since 2010, and certified biodynamic since 2014. Except for the perpetual reserve cuvée 11, 12, 13... each Champagne is the product of a single vintage and a single vineyard. In addition to the vines, Bénédicte and Manu have a small biodynamic farm where there raise animals, grow grains and vegetables, and produce their own biodynamic preparations.
