Blanc de Blancs 2015

$150.00

- New arrival on Emperor Champagne!

- Boutique Champagne house in the Côte des Bar

- Massale selection Single vineyard wine, drinks like a Burgundy with bubbles

Ripe tropical nose with gorgeous aromas of yellow plum and lifted florals. This is wonderfully textured, soft, plush and elegant with an expression of warm toast, hay and immense mineral dimension. Powerful and elegant at the same time.

Massale selection of Chardonnay vines, more Burgundian in style with bubbles.  Stunning complexity that marries with the lees. Low-yielding vines, intense style of clay-driven blanc de blancs. Great expression of Cote des Bar.

Technical details

Zero dosage | Single vineyard <Sous Larrey> | Aged in Burgundian oak barrels 300L and 350L | Aged 5 years on lees | Organic production | Plot of 24ares mid west facing hillside, clay soil. Bourgogne Massale selection of Chardonnay on rootstock 41B planted in 2009. Plot frequently subject to spring frosts, it therefore offers particularly low yields.

An oenologist and agronomist, Remi Leroy was trained in Bordeaux. Along with his father they manage their family vineyards of 8 hectares in Meurville, Côte des Bar. The terroir is exceptional, composed of clay-limestone from the Jurassic period. Their flagship grape is Pinot Noir (72% of their vineyards) which is the star grape in the region, the rest being 20% Chardonnay and 8% Pinot Meunier. Remi and his father and working on replanting Chardonnay to give more diversity to their winemaking. Their wines are simply superb and speak for themselves.
