Rosé 2014

- New arrival on Emperor Champagne!

- Boutique Champagne house in the Côte des Bar

- Vinous, fresh and powerful style of maceration rosé

This is a vinous style of rosé de saignée with long maceration of 72 hours. Aged in 228L barrels of more than 5 years to soften the prominent tannin complexity. Expect notes of Griotte Cherry, cassis and herbal edged rhubarb, with a powerful, vinous yet fresh finish. This is very Burgundian with pretty florals opening up along the way. Pair with Lobster or Langoustine Ravioli, Thai Style. Suggest decanting or opening at least 15 minutes before to show all the exotic aromas.

Zero dosage | 72 hours maceration on skins | Single vineyard <Les Crots> | Excellent 2014 harvest | Aged in Burgundian oak barrels 228L | Aged 5 years on lees | Organic production | Plot of 22ares mid slope facing south east, clay soil offering very little nutrition to the vines. Pinot Noir fine Champagne selection on rootstock 41B planted in 2007.

An oenologist and agronomist, Remi Leroy was formed in Bordeaux. With his father, they manage their familial vineyards of 8 hectares in Meurville, Côte des Bar. The terroir is simply exceptional, composed of clay-limestone from the Jurassic period. Their flagship grape is Pinot Noir (72% of their vineyards) which is the star grape in the region, the rest being 20% Chardonnay and 8% Pinot Meunier. Remi and his father and working on replanting Chardonnay to give more diversity to their winemaking. Their wines are simply superb.
