Colour deep golden. On the nose, we have citrus, orange, creme caramel, honey on toast, roasted pineapple. Leading on to the palate, warming, generous, full-bodied with excellent depth of flavour.
Acidity is lower than expected which is fine as this wine is going for a richer more decadent style. Think Philipponnat Royale Reserve or Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve and you are in the same sort of territory. Very enjoyable and beautifully made.
60% from the 2015 Vintage and 40% reserve wine, hence the name. All reserve wines are aged in large foudres, in a perpetual solera form.
