The 1995 Pommery Grand Cru is a pleasure to taste. It has a rich, golden color, and is lined with fine and persistent bubbles. Intense buttered brioche aromas bound out of the glass, along with baked apple, hazelnut, spice and quince aromas. The lengthy aging has contributed copious amounts of baked-fruit notes, such as pears, quince and apples dusted with spice. The finish is long, layered and complex, and shows great finesse. This is a fantastic expression of Champagne at a price that rarely – if ever – comes around. - Janine Lettieri | Sommelier based in New York.
