- Iconic Grande Marque Pol Roger
- Latest vintage release of their prestige cuvée
- The blend is a closely guarded family secret
Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill is only made in the very best vintages and is always released later than the other vintage dated Champagnes from Pol Roger, marking Churchill's appreciation for older wines.
Pinot Noir predominates, providing structure, breadth and robustness whilst Chardonnay contributes elegance, finesse and subtlety. Composed exclusively of grapes sourced from Grands Crus Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards which were already under vine during Churchill's lifetime.
A splendid golden hue champagne. On the palate, notes of ripe apples and light toasty notes, with a fine mousse of exotic fruit and a balancing freshness. A full-bodied, Pinot Noir dominant champagne that can be cellared or enjoyed now!
Also available in a Magnum.
Predominantly Pinot Noir (over 60%), as Winston Churchill was a Pinot drinker, the balance Chardonnay, all from grand cru villages under vine at the time of Churchill; full malolactic fermentation; secondary fermentation in the lowest part of the cellars (9oC); seven and half years ageing on its lees in Pol’s cellar after bottling with a dosage of 7 g/l, disgorged in the spring of 2013.
