What to expect

Coming from the excellent 2008 vintage this is a blend of 70% pinot noir and 30% chardonnay all sourced from the estate vineyards in Baroville. For champagnes made in excellent years, it is advantageous to age them on lees longer to maximise the ageing potential of the wine. This has been aged 8 years on its lees and has 8 g/l dosage.

Deep gold in colour, the nose has honeycomb and yellow fruits like peach and apricot. These aromas flow on to the palate with addition of some toast and nuttiness from the lees contact.  The sensation is still fresh with vibrant acidity and an intense, lingering finish.

This has picked up several awards over the last few years;
Silver Medal at IWSC 2017
Gold Medal at Gilbert Gaillard International Competition 2016
Bronze Medal and IWC and Decanter 2016
Gold Medal at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2016

About the house

About the house

Food suggestion

We have only fond things to say about the Fourrier family. Fourth generation heirs Mathilde, Julien and Stephanie now run the house on behalf of this passion family whose vineyards are located in the deep south of the Champagne region in the Côte des Bar. Mathilde is familiar with the Australian market and landscape after spending a considerable period of time here in 2016 learning about her market. Young and extremely passionate Julien Fourrier has taken over the wine making reins and is producing some quality cuveé's. This is truly a family affair and a great example of a grower champagne from the south who is marking their mark globally. These wines are exceptional good quality and great value.
