Petit & Bajan Ambrosie Grand Cru

Brut NV

$135.00

- Specialist small-batch champagne production

- Avize Chardonnay meets Verzenay Pinot Noir

- Beautiful wine that can be paired with simple aged comte cheese

Ripe and concentrated nose showing grilled pineapple, summer strawberry and a little toasted coconut. The mouth is packed with flavour ranging from bitter orange marmalade and grapefruit with a soft and supple texture. Low, yet fresh acidity.

We love the play of ripe-bitter fruit which takes over the mouth and then subsides to provide subtlety and longevity. This is excellent and shows what small batch champagne is all about.

Rewarded by the Specialised Journal,  Véronique and Richard are finalists in the ‘Outstanding Young Talents of Champagne’ for Ambrosie. Richard Petit’s family roots in Avize go back centuries, caring for Chardonnay on the chalky soils of the Côte de Blancs. Veronique Bajan’s clan hails from Pinot Noir terroir in Verzenay, grand cru land on the Montagne de Reims. Love, then marriage, came first in 1997; then in 1999, when Richard took over his family’s winery in Avize, the idea that they could create wine together blossomed.
