Under the expert guidance of Chief Winemaker Jean Pierre Vincent, succeeded by Guillaume Roffiaen in 2014, each sip of this exceptional Champagne elicits the surprise and emotion that Nicolas Feuillatte intended, in which elegance and generosity reign supreme.

Notes of fresh tropical fruits, almonds and apricots, with a touch of spice. Full, ripe flavours of redcurrant and citrus, followed by a burst of freshness and minerality provided by the Pinot Noir, with a final hint of chalk and a whisper of soft, delicate smoke.

Palmes d’Or is a work of rare craftsmanship forged by time. After 10 years of cellar ageing, Palmes d’Or reveals itself to be as nuanced and sublime as the most exquisite of pearls.

Technical details - 50% chardonnay from Chouilly, Cramant, Oger, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize and Montgueux near Troyes; 50% pinot noir from Bouzy, Verzy, Verzenay, Aÿ and Ambonnay."

Ranked No.1 Champagne house sold in France and No.3 in the world, Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte has strengthened its position as France's favourite champagne over the years. Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte celebrates not only the success of a house that has become a leader in its category in less than 40 years, but also the success of a unique cooperative model, one of a kind in Champagne. The commitment shared by 5000 growers is the real force of the brand positioning.

“Everything is in full working order,” said RVF Editor Denis Saverot. “Investments are operational, a new team is in place. Nicolas Feuillatte is a model in strategy in the coop world in France. We recognise the tremendous work accomplished by its Chef de Cave, Guillaume Roffiaen, since his arrival. Nicolas Feuillatte champagnes have never been so precise, fresh and balanced.” We believe our growers contribute to provide an outstanding "indulgence for the many" signed by Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte.

"A mix of apricot, dried cherry and lemon aromas and flavors are sharply etched, and there's a grainy texture to this bubbly, which has intensity, even if it is a bit chunky. Drink now through 2018. Tasted twice, with consistent notes." 90 Points, Wine Spectator

"The 1998 Brut Cuvee Palmes d'Or is a sexy drink. While not a blockbuster, the wine reveals an engaging, harmonious personality. The open, inviting bouquet leads to an expressive, generous core of fruit with pretty notes of early tertiary character that add complexity. Brioche, hazelnuts, dried pears and dried apricots linger on a long, beautifully articulated finish. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2014. No disgorgement date available." 90 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"This Palmes d'Or style is used to create a wine rather than a Champagne. It works here, the structure and the toast all giving a mouthfeel of Burgundy. The acidity of course is characteristic of Champagne, but it is well integrated into the yeast, the green stone fruits and the pink grapefruit freshness." 90 Points, Wine Enthusiast

Palmes d’Or was created in 1986 by Nicolas Feuillatte as the ultimate expression of his love for a young opera singer. He created this exceptional cuvée in the image of his diva: elegant, sublime and unforgettable. This exceptional, sophisticated champagne is encased in a one- of-a-kind, lustrous gold container, which protects the bottles’ brilliant pearl relief. No other champagne begins to compare with Palmes d’Or champagne. This prestige cuvée expresses the vast diversity of the champagne soils. A powerful Champagne with a complex, distinguished structure. The gorgeous black Palmes d’Or champagne bottles were designed to mirror the magnificent opera singer and replicate her signature black pearls, which she wore at every New York performance.
