"Krug leads to where most other champagne houses end, and this is every bit a prestige cuvée. Krug is adamant that it has no hierarchy in its cuvées, but price and style dictate that Grande Cuvée is always the starting point. Interestingly, the house pours in reverse order, tasting Grande Cuvée last. ‘My father said, “Red carpet for every Krug!”’ explains Olivier. ‘There is no special treatment here, and every grape at Krug is given the same respect.’ Tyson Stelzer
A light golden colour and fine, vivacious bubbles, holding a promise of pleasure. Aromas of flowers in bloom, ripe, dried and citrus fruits, as well as marzipan and gingerbread. Flavours of hazelnut, nougat, barley sugar, jellied and citrus fruits, almonds, brioche and honey.
