Rosé des Riceys is an exceptional, juicy and tremendously complex and delicious rosé. Once open, it shows darker fruits and needs time to present its full range of complexity while it works its way into the higher fruit tones and sweet rose aromas. It is an exquisite rosé equipped with a bouquet of floral sweetness and summer time citrus.
Fun fact: Many of the larger and more prominent houses such as Ruinart and Charles Heidsieck and Palmes d'or Rosé, purchase Rosé de Riceys to add into their blends. It is regarded as some of the best Rosé in the entire region.
Born into a family of Champagne winegrowers in the heart of Ricey’s renowned vineyards, Elise Dechannes has been nurturing her lifelong passion since 2008 by crafting a range of champagnes in her image – fine, elegant and subtle.
A graduate of Reims Business School, she left a very accomplished career in the financial sector to pursue a more relaxed lifestyle. She returned to her family farm and took over the winemaking. She is an earnest and dedicated spirit committed to healthy farming, working towards all organic and biodynamic practices. She has even chosen to plow her vineyards traditionally with a horse rather than use heavy machinery like tractors.
100% Pinot Noir grape from Les Riceys. The wines experience a short maceration, then fermented in steel vats. Aged for 30 months. No fining or filtration. Please note, this is a still wine and is not effervescent.
The Rosé de Ricey would pair perfectly with a spread of light cheese and smoked meat.
