It is in the heart of the Côte des Bars that Elise Dechannes cultivates her vines as naturally as possible. An independent winegrower, she is closely involved with nature, both in her personal way of life and in her passion.
Her professional retraining will not have taken long to be confirmed since she will serve the table of the Elysée for several years before giving way to another winegrower.
Elise produces wines according to the fruits and her desires. The Essential cuvée is her signature cuvée: a single grape variety (Pinot Noir, dominant in her estate), the simplest possible vinification method (in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats), a single year and no dosage. A local nugget that we are looking forward to sharing with you!
A delectable straw yellow in colour. Notes of citrus fruits, lemon and orange zest pose a refreshing and hydrating on the nose. A delicate initial mouthfeel with great presence, light, tangy and pure. A soft and enveloping finish.
Born into a family of Champagne winegrowers in the heart of Ricey’s renowned vineyards, Elise Dechannes has been nurturing her lifelong passion since 2008 by crafting a range of champagnes in her image – fine, elegant and subtle.
A graduate of Reims Business School, she left a very accomplished career in the financial sector to pursue a more relaxed lifestyle. She returned to her family farm and took over the winemaking. She is an earnest and dedicated spirit committed to healthy farming, working towards all organic and biodynamic practices. She has even chosen to plow her vineyards traditionally with a horse rather than use heavy machinery like tractors.
