Duval-Leroy Prestige Rosé

Rosé NV

$139.95

- Silky and elegant style of Rosé aged in bottle for 6 years

- Made from Grand & Premier Cru fruit

- Pair with Lobster rolls with kewpie mayo and a brioche bun and some fries for good measure. Other pairings would be pork and pistachio terrine and a steak tartare. Or a cheese and fig platter.

What a treat, a Rosé made only with Grand and Premier Cru fruit and produced in the rare and tricky form of maceration! Add to this 5-6 years of bottle aged and you will be blessed with a harmonious whirl of baked strawberry, caramel and rhubarb.

Don’t expect much bubble as this has dissipated over time, the bubbles are indeed fine. Flavours of blood orange, apricot and delicate red fruit flood the palate with waves of creamy-mineral deliciousness.

Base year 2010 | Disgorged 9th of June 2014 | Only use Grand Cru and Premier Cru fruit. | Dosage is around 9g/l. Macerated for 20-22 hrs at controlled temperatures and then blended with clear wine.

Blend is 90% Pinot Noir (from Vertus, Vallée de la Marne, Montagne de Reims) and only 10% Chardonnay (Côte des Blancs)

The scale of Duval-Leroy’s modern winery is a physical statement of the rapid progress at this family-owned company. Celebrating its 160th birthday in 2019,it now ranks in the 15 largest champagne houses, thanks to its dynamic, visionary leader, Carol Duval-Leroy, who has courageously grown the estate since 1991, now confidently supported by her three sons, Julien, Charles and Louis. Chardonnay takes the lead in these graceful and elegant wines, reflecting the bright fruit purity of the village of Vertus. Tyson Stelzer
