- An uber cool Extra-brut champagne

- Very little sugar level (dosage is 2g/L)

- Pair with seared scallops, fresh oysters, seafood, Japanese cuisine

We love the sheer energy and tension in this wine. What the hell are we talking about? It is quite literally the expression of its tangible qualities on the tongue: fresh, tangy, creamy and chalky.

The bright flavours of grapefruit, lemon zest, hazelnut and fresh (green) almonds find their way across the palate with ease.

The next wave is the undercurrent of minerality, citrusy-chalk and bristling clean on the finish, lining the mouth for more edgy freshness.

What's not to love about this young house? Led by a dynamic and adventurous gentleman by the name of Alexandre Cornot. Brimoncourt has associated themselves with the Regency era (1795-1837) which is defined by elegance, sophistication, flair, dapper gents, fine ladies and ultimately, fun. Brimoncourt is a great way to introduce your friends and family to a new era of champagne, one that speaks of style, independence and quality.

“80% Pinot noir, 20% Chardonnay from Ay, Bouzy Ambonnay, Cramant, Mesnil and Oger. Dosage is just 2 g/L. Very nervy, bright nose with good balance considering the low dosage. Not austere at all, though it’s a tad chewy. Pretty flirtatious and I must assume some age compensates for the low dosage – though it tastes extremely fresh. Maybe just particularly ripe grapes? Very appetising. 17/20" Jancis Robinson
