From 8 Grands Crus in the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims, Billecart-Salmon’s new cuvée is a blend of exceptional wines from the 2000, 2003, 2008 and 2012 vintages. This wine is an example of the elegant and lingering, yet powerful, champagne style for which Billecart-Salmon is famous.
In a nod to the year 1818, when the Mareuil-sur-Aÿ house was founded, just 1,818 magnums and 18 jeroboams of this new Champagne blend have been made.
“The 200th anniversary of Champagne Billecart-Salmon is an incredibly important milestone for our family, as we not only remain fiercely independent, but we also aim to achieve excellence in everything we produce,” said Mathieu Roland-Billecart, Champagne Billecart-Salmon COO and 7th generation family member. “The Bicentenary Cuvée was one of the most ambitious cuvées we’ve crafted. We not only wanted to capture the essence and finesse of Billecart-Salmon, but also the structure needed to age exceptionally well. The result is a wine with the Billecart-Salmon signature finesse and elegance that we believe will age gracefully over time.”
