What to expect

Demi-sec champagnes, which are a sweeter style, can often be an afterthought of a champagne house, sometimes encased in flashy bottles trying to lure the next generation into falling in love with champagne! The idea behind Cuvée Riche from A.R. Lenoble is nothing of the sort.

Every champagne from this small, meticulous producer located in Damery is made with pride and purpose. The blend is 25% chardonnay from the grand cru village of Chouilly is blended with 30% pinot noir from the village Bisseuil and the balance of meunier coming from the surrounding vineyards of Damery. Eighteen per cent of the wine is aged in oak barrels and the grapes are from the exceptional base year of 2012.

Demi-sec champagne doesn’t just need to be partnered with dessert. It works wonderfully well with rich savoury dishes and Asian cuisine. The 32 grams of sugar take this cuvee into the ethereal space, gliding on the palate with effort and filling the mouth with stone fruit, like peach and apricot with sweet brioche and fresh almonds.

About The House

About The House

Food Pairing

Led by supremely talented and very passionate brother and sister duo Antoine and Anne Malassagne, this vineyard is one to watch. Located in Damery this 100% family owned and operated estate consistently turns out impressive champagnes and has recently been awarded the Chairman’s Trophy at the Champagne and Sparkling Wine Awards 2017 in London. This is one of our favourite producers in Champagne and their wines speak for themselves.

Food Pairing

Fois gras served on toast with a redcurrant jelly would partner well with the richness of this sweet cuvee.
