Antoine Bouvet Les Monts de la Vallée '15

Blanc de Noirs 2015

$145.00

- Excellent quality grower using biodynamic practices

- Based along the Marne Valley in famous Mareuil-sur-Aÿ near Billecart-Salmon

- Pair with smoked duck breast or ham hock

Colour deep golden. On the nose, we have citrus, orange, creme caramel and salted biscuit. Leading on to the palate with a warming and generous profile, that is full-bodied with excellent depth of flavour.

Acidity is lower than expected which is fine as this wine is going for a richer more decadent style. This is right along the lines of a Bollinger but grower in style. Very enjoyable and beautifully made.

Technical details

100% Pinot noir from Mareuil-Sur-Aÿ and Bisseuil and all from the 2015 harvest. 1,326 bottles made
Disg: 07/10/2019

This house lies in the heart of the Montagne de Reims - Mareuil-Sur-Aÿ. Antoine is the grandson of Guy Bouvet who founded the Champagne house in 1970. Antoine was always curious in the winemaking, following his grandfather since he was a young child. Guy Bouvet gave Antoine the estate when he was 17. Antoine looks after the small 5 hectares of vines in which only 1 hectare is used for his own production whilst the rest is sold to Bollinger. Therefore very limited bottles are produced, on average 1000 bottles per cuvee. Antoine practices biodynamic methods, uses wild fermentation and minimum intervention. Antoine’s love and admiration for his grandfather can be seen in the homage to him on his wine labels. These wines are a must try and a true young rising star of Champagne.
