About the Vilmart & Cie House
This fine house was established in 1890 by Désiré Vilmart in the village of Riley-La-Montagne at the foot of the Montagne de Reims. The house was passed down from generation to generation, and once in the capable hands of Désiré’s son, Charles and grandson Renan, the house grew tremendously well.
In the Second World War, the estates endured destruction and Renan had to reconstruct buildings and facilities over the few cellars that had been spared and once again lifted this house from ruins to the successful brand we enjoy on so many dinner tables this very day.
