The nose is lifted with fresh lemon and white floral notes. The mouth is leads in to a generous, creamy and full-bodied style of blanc de blancs. We love the line of acidity keeping everything in check, just how good chardonnay should be made.

"Inattendue is a terroir-specific blanc de blancs, intended to be an expression of the Montagne de Reims: half of it comes from Les Sentiers in Ludes, a parcel of sandy clay and loam, while the other half is from Les Blanches Voies in Rilly-la-Montagne, a south-facing, intensely chalky site that’s known as the source of Vilmart’s Coeur de Cuvée." Peter Liem.

On the northern of the Montagne de Reims in Ludes, Francois Huré and his brother, Pierre, run their family estate of Huré Frères, cultivating about 26 acres (10 hectares) of vines. Most of the vineyard work is organic and parcels are vinified separately to preserve their characters. Huré's champagnes combine rich texture with racy acidity, as demonstrated by the non vintage Invitation, made mostly of pinot noir and meunier.
