A hot, dry summer brought one of the earliest harvests on record, with picking starting on 23 August. It produced beautifully ripe, concentrated Pinot Noir, which is the backbone of the house style.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe blend draws on 19 crus. Aÿ, Verzenay and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ provide the Pinot Noir, and Avize, Chouilly and Cuis bring the Chardonnay's freshness and lift. As always, every bottle is riddled and disgorged by hand and finished with a restrained 6 g\/L dosage.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the glass, expect ripe orchard fruit, white peach and Mirabelle plum, with citrus peel, grilled almond and Bollinger's signature toasty, smoky depth from the oak. The palate is generous and textural, with a creamy mousse and a long, saline finish.
