What to expect

Most of you have come across the Beau Joie Extra Brut. This is the other sibling, the Rosé. Made from 50:50 Pinot noir and Chardonnay from fruit sourced around Epernay and the Côte des Blancs.

"A finely balanced, mouthwatering rosé Champagne, with firm acidity backing flavors of tangy cherry, candied strawberry, toast, smoke and spiced plum. Bright and lively, with a clean mineral finish. Drink now through 2019." - Wine Spectator

The most striking feature of this wine is the design which has been inspired by the armour that the knights wore to protect the Kingdom of France and the copper roofs of Paris. The exquisite casing is made from 100% recycled copper and glass.

Technical details

50% chardonnay and 50% pinot noir, 3.8 g/l dosage and aged 4 years on lees.

Food suggestion

Made as a special project by the talented house of Charles Ellner established in 1972. Ellner, who started his journey as a riddler for the local champagne houses, would purchase vineyards as they became available. The family holdings are at some 50 hectares which stretch across all major regions from north to south; Montagne de Reims, Vallee de la Marne, Côte de Blancs, Sezannais and far south in the Aube Valley. The house resides in Epernay and also has vineyards around the hills.
